Is this your child?

Do you recognize your child in any of these scenarios?

  • She watches other children play but doesn’t know how to enter the play herself. She wants so much to be with the other kids, but watching is as close as she gets without help.
  • He has some quirky habits like only talking about his special interest and not noticing that other children are bored. Their body language shows that they are bored, silly but that doesn’t seem to enter his consciousness at all.
  • He always has to have all the ideas, be first or direct the play. A natural born leader, yes, but he misses allowing other children to have a chance to play, to have a turn or to join in the direction of play.
  • Easily furstrated, she will lash out verbally or even physically towards anyone who seems to be in the way. After the storm is over, she thinks everything is fine, but doesn’t see the damage done to relationships with friends, teachers, and even family members.
  • He’s a little too honest and will say pretty much whatever is in his head without a thought to the feelings of others which is causing his peers to reject him in order to avoid his unkind words.
